Screwed Up

Recently, I think it was Condoleeza Rice who said that the world was facing a food shortage because of the rising appetites of Indians!!! A provocative statement to say the least....and an absolutely silly one on top of that!!!

What are we doing exactly......(we-as in humans). We are screwing up big time....in fact we have already screwed up big time.....Theres is a limited area of land on earth, of that some of it has to be given to perennial forests to act as lungs so as to keep our metabolism oxygenic..... some of it is waste land, desert or mountain land and generally uncultivable......some of it is covered by our filthy cities and houses and god knows what else.....the rest must now be efficiently converted to agricultural land....the only problem is it already is.........and it is not enough....so what do u do......eat meat.....how do you grow meat??? u need more land for grazing cattle than for agriculture.....so its actually better to eat green leafy vegetables however much u may feel like a cow........but still not enough food.....so you fish....but the problem is excess fishing has already decreased the numbers to such drastic lows that many near extinction locally(most notably the yummy blue fin tunas)....quite a few globally (most notably the whales). So what do you do....u start fish farms....only they dont grow like wheat...and fish from fish farms are costlier than fish from sea!!!......so now we have less food which is more costly....and we already are in a global economy recession with rising oil prices and decreasing steel availability.......and the global warming is increasing sea levels steadily so that the amount of available land is decreasing still further.......and rising sea levels would engulf not just coastal cities or villages but whole countries.......for eg: Netherlands is a country which will be totally submerged if the sea levels rises.....and Netherlands holds in billions of dollars in the world horticulture industry.....thank god its not agriculture instead of horticulture....Another bad news.....we are converting agricultural land to grow crops to harness biodiesel.....thus decreasing agricultural land for food further and on top of that burning a hydrocarbon to give off more of that noxious CO2 which increases global warming, raises water levels and decreases land availability further.......on top of that we are reproducing faster than rabits and while rabits would satiate with a forest we need whole cities to take care of our brethren and.......yes u got that right..... that requires more land...

So we eat and dont have enuff to eat, we fish and now the fish dont have enuff to eat (cause one fish eats another) we burn and we pollute and then we blame Indians rising appetites for food shortage forgeting that the max no. of obese are in the US of A....

WE ARE SCREWING UP BIG TIME ~!!!!!

(The weird thing is....there is a solution....and its called sacrifice.....but who is listening....all are busy eating!!!)
